China International Television Corporation (CITVC) signed an agreement with Televisa to co-produce a telenovela in China. Said project will be subsequently be distributed in Mexico and Latin America.
This project, which is the first team-up between the Mexican and the Chinese company aims to develop a transcultural product for the television industry. At present, they are aiming to study several possible stories informed by the two diverse cultures to find the one that shall meet the expectations of the market. The project aims to exploit the potential of a market that will consist of more than 2 million viewers.
